CAMO+ introduction

Part M of EU Regulation 2042/2003 for aircraft in non-commercial operation became effecitive on April 1, 2009. This regulation pertains to maintaining the continous airworthiness of components and aircraft as well as to organisations serving such purpose.


Aircraft owners and operators have the following options in order to comply with this EU-Regulation:

  1. Establish their own Continous Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) which is authorized to to implement and certify the airworthiness of an aircraft
  2. Assign the verification and certification of airworthiness of the aircraft to the respective local authorities
  3. Assign – per contract – the maintenance, implementation and certification of airworthiness of your aircraft to a certified CAMO organization

  • Development of an approved maintenance program (unless it can be implemented by the customer)
  • Implementation of SB’s and AD’s
  • Maintaining time life and component lists.
  • Monitoring  and scheduling of upcoming maintenance checks
  • Verification and certification of airworthiness

Needless to say this is a very wide and complex field and many customer will not have the time to comply with the detailed legal requirements without professional help.
